Parallax Angels

In good company.

A community of angels and founders who build trust the way it’s actually built — through shared experience, not pitch nights.

Who we are

We believe the best angel investing happens between people who actually trust each other — and that the best founders flourish with a real support system around them. Trust like that gets built through shared experience, not exchanged business cards.

Most of the startup VC world runs on pitch nights and transactional dinners. They optimize for deal speed, and they select for people who treat the whole thing like a sport. Parallax Angels is a community first: angels and founders doing things worth doing, with people worth knowing. Whatever follows — investment, advice, partnership — follows from the relationship, not the other way around.

We’re open to people just starting out — your first angel check, your first company — as much as those with a hundred bets behind them. The accessibility gap is real: most people who could be in the startup VC world stay on the sidelines because nobody invited them in. We’re changing that. We’re also building toward something bigger — an AI-native diligence layer we think becomes a real differentiator — but that comes after the community is real. Until then, we’re keeping it simple.

What you’ll actually do

The kind of thing you’d do
on a weekend anyway.

Golden-hour light on a coastal bluff

Wildflower walks & coastal hikes

Golden-hour walks on the bluffs. Conversation happens side by side, not across a table.

Aerial drone view over the coastline

Drone fly-outs

Aerial footage over ridgelines and superblooms — and the parallax group shot that gives us our name.

Freshly picked wild blackberries

Berry picking & foraging

Mulberries in Brentwood, mushroom walks with an expert guide. Low stakes, good stories.

Colorful downtown street mural

Scooter mural tours

Electric scooters, downtown San Jose murals, shared discovery at conversation pace.

Event 001 — The Water Temple

Who this is for

Both sides of the table.
No table.

Aspiring angels

You could be writing checks, but nobody invited you in. This is the invitation.

Experienced angels

You’ve done the pitch-night circuit. You want relationships deeper than a demo day.

Founders

First company or fifth: you want people around you who get it, with no pitch required.

Operators & experts

Angel-adjacent, founder-adjacent, curious. Come as you are.

Values

Trust is the product.
Everything else follows.

Most networks in the startup VC world run on performance — the pitch, the flex, the deal announced before it’s closed. We built this one to run on something slower and harder to fake.

Non-negotiable

No gossip.

Members talk to each other, not about each other. What’s shared at an event stays with the people who heard it — the angel and founder world is small, and trust is the only asset here that compounds.

No boys club.

Diversity of gender, race, background, and investor/founder split is written into the fabric of this group. Referral-only networks default to sameness; we correct for that on purpose.

No pitch decks.

Founders don’t perform for us. If a deal happens, it happens through a relationship, on its own time — not a slide at the front of a room.

No sponsors, ever.

Every event is free, paid for out of pocket. The moment a check enters the room, so does an agenda — and we’d rather not find out whose.

Give more than you take.

Members make introductions without keeping score. Generosity that comes with an invoice later isn’t generosity.

Talk about the losses.

Track records get discussed honestly here — the misses as much as the wins. People who only talk about their hits usually haven’t learned much.
